Transitions Toolkit
Just about everyone has seen it, either in a commercial or in the garage of a relative or neighbor: that well-stocked, immaculate, incredibly organized tool cabinet. Any tool one could possibly need is arranged according to type and size, laid out in smoothly-opening drawers for easy accessibility. Need an 8” Phillips screwdriver? Second drawer, right side. Need a pair of pliers? Bottom drawer, next to the wire cutters. Having easy access to the right tool for the job makes the task easier, doesn’t it? 
That is the vision around which the 2010 Transitions Toolkit was formed: essential tools,easily accessible. We want to provide educators with a one-stop, comprehensive, user-friendly resource for beginning or enhancing their transition efforts with students moving out of middle grades into high school. The Transitions Toolkit includes 20 activities for effectively transitioning students from one level of educational participation to the next.
